Polo Fields Plus One

Good day. Nice run.

I ran an extra 0.92 miles before the Strider group run to make up the mile I dropped off on Mondays run. Of the nearly 30 Strider attendees, less than ten ran to the Polo Fields. I'm not sure where the others ran, but they missed a nicely shaded route.

I ran solo on the way out to the polo fields by choice, but I was completely grateful for the company of David "Git er Done" Minkin on the return trip. Tonight was Dave's first run since his impressive 3:34:47 finish in Calgary, AB Canada. Dave doned the same clothes tonight as he did during his marathon. His attire included Texas running shorts, Texas Defeet socks, and a custom white singlet that read: "Git er Done, David". Texas was well represented! Great job at the marathon and thanks for the company tonight, Dave!

Good running, Tex. Nice understatement, too. Could have opened with something like "ran the back half with David Minken, who ran the 1st leg on the Strider team that was 3rd overall at Beach to Bay". Chatted with David on the way out, and he went for a big result at Calgary and shut it down after a strong first half when a variety of physical maladies set in.

Agree the Polo Grounds group was light; Baaarb said there were a whole bunch of folks who chose to stay in the park.
