Dr. Mack thinks I have tendonitis. He ok'd me to keep running. Oddly, he said I could run through the pain as long as it does not change my gait. Mack also ordered an MRI of my knee to rule out other possible causes. Glad I got a second opinion. Koala and Mack are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Mack thinks its a simple overuse injury. Personally I like his diagnosis much better than the first one I received.

I'm still excited about the new garmin. I've been like a kid; pushing all the buttons, setting my parameters, and so on. This may be one of the nicest things someone else has done for me.

Man, I am so relieved about your visit to the doctor. And he's so right about the gait thing. Just be careful. Hope to see you in the morning. Hey, nice new toy, dude!!! Is that an upgrade? Wasn't the paper weight a 205?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention the UPGRADE. I am running in the same leagues as David, Bessie, and Vic! WooHoo, the BIG LEAGUE.

You guys were much too kind. I'm trying to think of a way to make it up to ya’ll. When “life” settles down, maybe we can do a Kingwood Greenbelt run and I’ll treat ya to my famous homemade firehouse enchiladas. YUMMMMMMY!

Ummmm....enchiladas. My weakness! Firehouse you say, bring it on!

Great news on the diagnosis! I had tendonitis in my ankle when I first started running. Glad to hear you've been ok'd to run the marathon!!!

Great news Bill. I got cleared the week before last year's marathon and it was such a relief.

Now that you have the 305, I expect to see some heartrate info posted...let's see how hard that ticker is working!! I also think that our next Strider meeting has a special talk on training with heartrate information...I will let Steeeeve confirm/deny this. It should be a great talk given your 305 heartrate capabilities! Sweet!

Confirmed! And if Bill decided to run 20 or something to test his toy I'm going to kick his butt.

GREAT news on the knee! I had some knee pain right after I ran my marathon 2 years ago; my orthopedic doc also said it was simply overuse. Time -- and switching shoes -- made the knee pain disappear after a few frustraing months.

I've lost track though -- you still planning to do the full marathon?
