I'm done.
Somewhere along the way, I lost sight of my initial task at hand.... to lose weight. I started running with a group for the camaraderie, but let my goals (and waistline) slip through my fingers. It's time to get back to my original task at hand. I much happier meting body weight goals, rather than distance or time PR's.
Today's long run was horrible on several levels. Nothing to do with HS, simply a chain of expensive and painful events.
I'm tired of bitchin' about all my problems. Time to take control of this journey.

Jennie and I are looking at our computer monitor and neither one of us really know what to say. For what it is worth, you are definately one of the people we really look forward to seeing at all the HS events and we both love to discuss your latest blog post! So, we are here for you buddy, make sure you continue to keep us posted and let us know if we can ever do anything for you.

Hang in there Bill. I don't believe anything really worthwhile out there is easy. Every runner goes through some really low points in their running. I know I have gone through many, including 2 different times when I was hurt so bad that I couldn't run 10 feet without pain and couldn't even think of running for 6 weeks the first time and 8 weeks on the other. Going 6 or 8 weeks with NO RUNNING at all can be so painful, especially during the prime racing season missing all my favorite races. Plus I was thinking that I would never heal and I would NEVER run again. So hang in there, you WILL recover and you WILL run again pain free. I promise!
Like some of the others I'm not sure what to say that is of much help, but I'm rooting for you. I lost most of my weight before running a step. Sometimes it's easier to control just one variable, instead of many, but long term I knew some type of fitness activity needed to be regimented into my plan, and running has fit the bill (no pun intended) nicely. Good luck on your journey and I hope to see you real soon!
