Best of the best

Attended the May Houston Strider meeting last night. I've only been a member a little more than a year, but this was by far the BEST. Not a simple thing needed improvement... perfection!

Speaker:
Local Houston celebrity, Cathrine Kruppa spoke to us about Peak Nutritional Performance. Tons of useful information delivered in 30 minutes. Catherine was also nice enough to arrive early and stay a little later to talk one-on-one with a few of us.

Venue:
Chatters fit our club like a glove. The weather was nice under the covered patio, which had more than enough room to seat our ever growing membership. The buffet style serving line was very efficient and the food was awesome! Plus, the menu met the seal of approval by Catherine!

Surprise #1: We were presented a plaque from the Al Lawrence Running club. They graciously recognized our 25 relay teams at the Bayou City Bash! Gooooo Striders!

Surprise #2: Most of us are aware (via Steeve) of the unofficial HARRA Fall and Spring series results. This year the Houston Striders had a three-peat for the Fall series and for the first time in club history the Houston Striders won the Spring series. In celebration of our accomplishment, club members were awarded Asics technical shirts with our new and improved logo. It doesn't get much better than the Houston Striders! Free food, free speaker, free shirt... and all we do is run and have fun. What a DEAL!

As always, special thanks to the Houston Strider board members for all the hard work they do behind the scenes. Kudos to Ted for another great club meeting. And Finally, thanks to Coach Steeve and Baarb. Their passion for running and absolute devotion to the Houston Strider Running Club never ceases to impress me.

You betcha! And, speaking of impressive, how about Bill and Erin rolling out of surgery and the hospital on down to the Strider meeting for fun and frivolity. Y'all are looking good!

Great recap. I agree. 'Twas an awesome meeting, probably second only to Marshallfest last year. The free shirt may put this one over the top, though.

Sounds awesome! I wish I could have made it, but I appreciate the recap.
