A few weeks ago I read about some trails in Jones park. They're located off 1488 between the Woodlands and Conroe. I learned this from Rick Cook's blog (dirt runner). Jon Walk read my comment on Ricks blog and emailed me a google map of the route they run. Its much like Huntsville State Park, but no RR or water fountains. The trails and scenery are very similar. Parking is ample and its a bit more level. I ran with Kevin. Made for a nice morning, but I was no where close to recovered from yesterdays race.

My legs are thrashed. Within the first mile they were tired and heavy. I didn't feel like running, but pushed forward anyways.

The new yellow NB 872 suck. I've not had a single blister since I started running. During yesterdays race I felt a couple hot spots, but I didn't pay them any attention. Right now, I have a quarter size blister on my right foot and three 1/4-inch blisters on my left foot. I think the shoes are too big. Plus, we went through a lot of water today. Erin bought them from Zapatos.com, so I may be stuck with them.

Dude,

You sacrificed comfort for style with the Sunny's, that's a running no no.

Can't get over your Buffalo Wallow photo, it's a classic!

I actually did a fair amount of reading about trail running shoes. NB 872's received good marks and was affordable. The super cool yellow color, was merely luck.

The BW picture was taken by July Bug. She did gooooood. Many, many other quality pictures for you to see (30+?)

You know, I had the same experience with my first pair of trail shoes. I got Asics, which I love, and expected them to be great like all my other Asics have been.

I wore the shoes 3 times, got blisters all 3 times, then gave them away. I just figured that trail shoes must "fit" differently than running shoes...even ones made by the same company and supposedly the same model.

Sorry to hear about the Sunny's though... they're way cool = (

I'm a Asic Nimbus guy and purchased a pair of Asic Cumulus last fall and went for a 10 mile run. Huge blister. Luckily, I purchased them from Finish Line Sports who let me exchange them for my coveted Nimbus shoes.

I'm sure you can find a use for those colorful shoes!
